Found along another courtyard, Quahwa, off Nikole Tesle, is primarily an Arabica roastery. But you can sip the resultant cappuccinos at this. Its month-old cafe, on a sun-splattered front veranda facing back up the alley.

To the right is a clothing boutique. While opposite are parked motorbikes, the odd snoozing cat, ferns and laundry hung from residential lofts.

Quahwa treats coffee with the reverence it deserves. One of the few independent roasters in town. Quahwa an easy walk from the main square, located in an attractive courtyard on Teslina. The beans, organic Arabica, are imported from Ethiopia and roasted in the café downstairs. Upstairs, minimalist interior is cool without feeling cold. Cushy ‘70s armchairs and hairpin-legged tables are strewn haphazardly about the polished parquet. Coffee is slightly more expensive than what you’ll find in the cafés clustering around nearby Cvjetni Trg. The difference in quality is obvious and worth the few extra kuna. Beyond coffee, Matcha-lattes, specialty liquors and excellent craft beers from The Garden provide a respectable list of alternatives.

Why locals love it. Quahwa is located just below the main square. So it can fit perfectly into your daily plan if you need a break from sightseeing. Not only can you watch the Turkish coffee being made in hot sand. You can also drink coffee from all around the world. All of the coffee is being grounded on the spot, and they even have somewhat of a tasting room.
Why you should visit it. The cosy atmosphere will make you feel like you’re in your living room, especially on the floor upstairs. The cafe offers a variety of different coffees. As well as locally brewed beers, hot and ice teas and even matcha.
Special tip. My to-go drink is a matcha latte.

Quahwa has colorful cups, comfortable armchairs and an outdoor terrace. They roast their own coffee imported from Ethiopia, Brasil and Colombia, and serve it with amazing latte art. Other drink options include matcha latte and tea, Turkish coffee and Bonbon iced coffee.

Quahwa, Coffee in Zagreb: Living up to its tagline (for coffee lovers only). Quahwa serves up some of the finest arabica in Zagreb, from superstrong lattes to traditional Turkish coffee. Caffeine heaven.
